Cooking oil – 1 ½ tbsp.
Method To Prepare Okra Fry:
2. Take some oil in a pan and let it heat for some time. Lower the flame and add mustard seeds to it.
3. Once the seeds splutter, add cumin seeds and wait till it turns brown.
4. Now add all the okra pieces to it and add ¼ tsp turmeric powder and mix well. Saute it till they turn soft.
5. This may take 15 – 20 minutes to roast properly. Don’t forget to keep mixing in between to avoid burning okra pieces.
If you want, you can also add onion, garlic, chilies and curry leaves. You can also use asafetida instead of garlic but don’t forget to use curry leaves.
I’ve made it with minimal spices to keep it simple. To increase the taste you can add few more spices. This okra fry can be combined with almost anything. You can eat it with rice and dal, with rotis, or just as it is.
